Anyone wanting to understand the Conservative Party's attitude to the BBC should look at the Adam Smith Institute and its views on the BBC. The view is the BBC should not exist and all media should be part of the free market economy.

Private Eye Magazine
Everyone interested in political and business matters should read the Private Eye magazine.
It breaks stories often years before the main media publish their investigative exclusives on the same subject.
Apparently, the Houses of Parliament's library copies of the Eye all get stolen as soon as they are put on display. Not sure if that talks about dishonesty or trying to hide the truth or both.

The Priivate Eye article on Selling England by the Offshore Pound is woth reading for anyonme interested in allowed dodgy tax avoidance. There is a handy interactive map to play with.
In Private Eye's own words 2015: -

The I Newspaper and the BBC
The I Newspaper is independent; it is one of the very few truly editorially independent newspapers left. It supports good causes and it exposes hypocracy and cant and dishonesty.
